“A good book on your shelf is a friend that turns its back on you and still remains a friend”.Books are a child’s best friends because they never fight, never complain, never demand for anything and always give knowledge. Books are the identity of students; a student is recognized by the books he reads. No books are boring but it is the interest level of the students categorizes them as boring or interesting.

They give peace to the mind, increase attention and concentration, increase vocabulary, presence of mind, creativity and above all, it gives us knowledge which is considered to be the world’s greatest treasure.Do you all love books…???? I love books a lot. It is important read books as it provides with number of new advantages. Free time is not to be wasted that time, but spent well in reading books. Books are a child’s best friend because it’s gives of itself and can only do well. Books offer the best of information that a child can delve into and share of its unlimited knowledge giving great pleasure.

Books are informative and tell us about various subjects like science, travel, language, history and places. The only thing is that we cannot hear them but we can read them. Books help a lot to maintain a good vocabulary. They help us to solve the mysteries of life with novel thoughts and ideas and act as a true companion.

But it is sad to know that children these days spend more time on TV and computers. It is the duty of every parent to spend some time and show their kids how fulfilling the pleasure of reading can be. Books are the sole companion of man through thick and thin. Its richness never fades; its fragrance permeates through our daily lives and the perfume will linger forever.A good book opens up pathways to new worlds. Children who don’t read perform more poorly in school and miss out on a profound source of pleasure and inspiration.

This might be the era of PSP or Xbox or WIFI but books can never ever be replaced. Book gives the mind the power of imaginations, flight to fantasy land, improves their vocabulary, and opens up a vast ocean of knowledge. Books help in uplifting the spirit. The best gift that any parent could gift to their children would be making them passionate about reading books and letting books be their best friends forever. The reading habit should start at a very early age of their life. Books help the child to develop their skills, habits and personalities. They make good tools to open up the mind and imaginations of a child and also make them think about ideas that have never crossed their mind before.

Children build up their skills, habits and personalities mainly with their interaction with friends and families. Similarly books can also help the child to develop all the above mentioned qualities. In the course of reading a book, a child comes across many new words each day and this helps them to improve their vocabulary skills. Reading books also help children to build up a better control over their language. Books also help them to know more about the world. Things that they have not seen or places that they have not visited can be easily viewed and details about such places can be obtained through books.

Selecting good books explains our culture, rules and responsibilities will help to develop social skills in children. Sharing quality can be also cultivated with the help of books. Children can make a group of their own and each one can buy book and share it with the others soon after reading. This will help in building a good bonding between your friends and also help other children to understand the concept of sharing.

While reading a book many distractions might come but due to the interest in books the child will give more concentration on what they are reading. This will help to improve the Level of concentration in children. Parents should take the initiative to make their child know and understand about the value of books. It doesn’t mean that you should disallow your child to read books. Make them aware of the positive side of reading a book. Provide books to your children according to their age. Try to start this from very younger stage so that they easily get adapted to it.
